The Raw Water Supply Project for RAPID or better known as PAMER is under the development of PETRONAS Refinery & Petrochemical Corporation Water (PRPC Water).
Due to the inadequate capacity of the existing nearby raw water resource and facilities, the State of Johore would have to construct new facilities that would bring raw water southward from Sungai Sedili Besar which is located some 80km north of PIPC area. This new raw water supply scheme would include construction of an intake station at Sg.Sedili Besar, a dam and a booster pumping station at Sg. Seluyut, a terminal reservoir at Bukit Panjang and a total of 88 km of raw water pipelines.
In March 2013, the state of Johore handed over the execution of PAMER to PETRONAS. The overall water supply scheme to PIPC area would be undertaken in 2 phases:
Phase 1: Known as "Projek Air Mentah RAPID" or PAMER, it involves the construction and installation of facilities to supply 230 MLD of raw water to RAPID and 30 MLD of raw water for State's use. Phase 1 also includes the construction of shared infrastructure and facilities and the acquisition of land required for Phase 2.
Phase 2: Involves the installation of additional facilities to supply 260 MLD of raw water for future PIPC users as well as other use under State's jurisdiction. Phase 2 will be undertaken by other party(ies).
